MBICR focuses on research projects with excellent potential for both basic sciences as well as translational science applications. Our mission is to harness advanced technologies to increase our understanding of cancer cell biology. We will use the gained knowledge to devise interventions that are more effective and have fewer side-effects than conventional cancer therapies. We are committed to moving our most promising breakthroughs from the laboratory to clinical testing along multiple avenues both within the Institute community and with partners worldwide. We have dedicated teams to manage every step required to translate the basic discoveries into clinical interventions that will benefit patients. We will also help private start-up companies that will focus on a promising breakthrough with commercial potential that might generate financial returns to fund additional fundamental research.
